Best Coffee In London: 10 Great Coffee Shops To Try

9th Jun 2021

To all our fellow coffee lovers out there, we know better than most, the importance of having a really good local coffee shop. The list of London’s best coffee roasters and coffee shops is a long one. Finding yourself overwhelmed with options? Whether you need a little coffee a day or a mega dose to get you through, if you’re a flat white fan or keen for a cold brew, we’ve got you covered. Here’s Huskee’s pick of where you can find the best coffee and cafes in London.

1. Caravan

A favourite London brunch spot, Caravan serves up some pretty special coffee too. Take your time savouring your flat white and pick up a bag of beans on your way out. Something that makes this one of our firm favourites is that they only use compostable takeaway cups and straws, and offer a discount for anyone who brings a reusable cup!

2. Ginger and White

This London café sources their beans from small UK producer Square Mile Coffee Roasters, their coffee is hand-roasted in small batches on-site in East London and they are registered as a Huskee café so you can take your HuskeeCup here for a swap next time you need a caffeine hit! For us, this, of course, makes it one of the best cafes in London!

3. Ozone Coffee

We love this East London coffee roaster, one of the London coffee greats, it has been around since 1998 and supplies some of London’s greatest cafes with their own beans. Our favourite spot to grab a cup of coffee from them is their Emma Street eatery, coffee bar and roastery.

Head here for a cup of coffee using the Gentlemen Baristas’ own beans. It comes in six single-origin options from Brazilian to Kenyan, you might have to try them all to find your favourite!

Head to this indoor market in Hackney for a Sydney-style flat white from Flying Horse coffee. Choose from their single origin and espresso blends (they also make a mean decaf). Take it to go or if the sun is shining, grab a chair in the market’s outdoor seating area.

8. Grind & Co.

With cafes in Shoreditch Grind, Soho, Holborn, London Bridge, Clerkenwell and Royal Exchange, this hipster café with great coffee is quickly taking over London’s café scene. Their espresso martinis, made with their own coffee blend of course, are some of the best.

9. The Towpath Café

This cult London café refuses to serve coffee in wasteful takeaway cups, and we love them for that. Set right on the canal, this is a peaceful spot to enjoy your brew watching the boats drift by.

10. Fernandez & Wells

With their single-origin beans for their espresso-based coffees supplied and roasted by Has Bean Coffee in Stafford and a blend that changes seasonally, the coffee here is always delicious. Famous for their Stumpy coffee; a trademarked mini flat white served in a small glass – buy a bag of beans before you leave and attempt an at-home recreation.
